Empowering black-heritage futures

Black-heritage students have the lowest acceptance rates to top universities and face barriers to securing highly skilled jobs.

Our transformational mentoring programmes support them to overcome these challenges and achieve a more prosperous future. Last year 53% of our students were first in their family to go to university.  38% of them were on free school meals.

Our Cedar Mount Foresight mentees talk about their experience.

Watch our Foresight mentees speak about how the programme helped them understand university and gave them the confidence to want to apply to university.

Students develop the confidence, knowledge and ability to thrive.

  • 86%

of our mentees secure places at top universities

  • 98%

develop soft skills such as communication and resilience that employers value

  • 97%

feel better equipped to handle interviews

Last year, we received twice as many applications for our university access programme than we had spaces. Clear evidence for the need of our work.
